Balut is a fertilized duck egg, with a partially formed fetus inside. It is usually eaten by cracking open the shell and drinking the fluid. Then fetus is seasoned with salt and pepper, and eaten raw. ReplyDeleteThis is a very interesting post! Actually, BALUT isn't just for street food anymore. It has made it's way into the main stream market. I went to the franchise fair last weekend and I saw a franchise stall selling BALUT and other stuff.
